I Am Playing A Grey Character in Setters Says Shreyas Talpade

Actor Shreyas Talpade, who is gearing up for the release of his next film titled Setters, has said that he is playing a grey character for the first time in his life.

The Team Setters, including Shreyas Talpade, Aftab Shivdasani, Ishita Dutta, Sonnalli Seygall, director Ashwini Chaudhary and producers Vikash Mani and Narendra Hirawat, hosted a media interaction at the trailer launch of his film.

Talking about his role and experience of working on Setters, Shreyas said, “Experience was great, to say the least. This is first time I am playing a grey character; I am being part of Mafia. I had to get the lingo right, so I learnt Banarasi language to play my character in the film. I have also worked on how these people operate, how they carry themselves in public and how they behave with each other"

Further adding, "I feel fortunate that Ashwini Choudhary, thought of me to play this particular character as I have played comic characters for the most part of my career. I feel really happy to be part of this film because as an actor, you always try to play various kinds of characters. So, once I got the opportunity I put in complete effort to play this character”

Setters unravel the world of mafia and corrupt practices prevailing in the Indian education system.

When asked about people drawing similarities between recently released, Emraan Hashmi starring 'Why Cheat India' – which also highlighted corruption in the education system.

Shreyas said, "I haven't watched Why Cheat India yet. People may try to find similarity between the two films but I feel both films are really different. The modus operandi of the people that we have shown in our film, though it is unfortunate but it is very fascinating to watch them people operate. When I heard story of this film, I felt that their way of operating is bit filmy but later, I realised that such incidents still take place in our country. Estenially the film is in thriller space, there is a cat and mouse chase and I don’t think there are any similarities whatsoever" Shreyas added.

Setters is scheduled for release on May 3, 2019.
