Govinda wishes the best for his biggest fan Ranveer Singh for his new life
Veteran Actor Govinda shared his best wishes for his biggest fan Ranveer Singh and said the actor once made him rewatch his films.
Govinda interacted with media for the promotion of his upcoming release, 'Rangeela Raja' on Thursday. The film is currently in a scuffle with the Censor Board of Film Certification over its content.
Ranveer Singh who got married to Deepika Padukone recently has been very vocal about being Govinda's biggest fan. The actor even at his wedding was seen dancing on Govinda's iconic songs.
When asked if Govinda would be present at Ranveer, Deepika's reception, he said, "When I was shooting with him (Ranveer) once, he enacted my scenes from different films and he shocked me. It made me want to watch my films again. (laughs) I wish him all the very best, may God bless him. Such an environment feels good to be in where you find love and support. I really like Ranveer and enjoy his films. It is so nice to hear that he has appreciated my work through all the years."
Govinda's upcoming film, 'Rangeela Raja' has been under (CBFC) Censor Board of Film Certification's radar. The board has demanded 20 cuts from the film causing the maker Pahlaj Nihalani to postpone its release.
When talking about the board's decision, Govinda said, "It's either we carry forward with a flop film or we reshoot most of the film and work through it, that's the kind of situation the board has created for Pahlaj ji. And I think this is very unfair and wrong. They must reconsider by looking at the content and dialogues that have been used in recent films and then think about what we have used in Rangeela Raja."
CBFC board has been directed by High Court to co-operate with the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal in passing judgment Nihalani's appeal against the cuts on Wednesday.
When asked how he looks at his success and failures and if adds to pressure having his film in a controversy, Govinda said, "Reacting to success or failure is a sign of weak people. When we started we were very poor and God granted us success. it was tough for us to buy tickets to watch a film, now we are in films and we have been in films for decades. And I am thankful to everyone who has played a small part in giving me the chance to become a part of films."
The previous release date of the film 'Rangeela Raja' was 16th November.
Directed by Sikander Bharti, the film's cast includes Govinda, Shakti Kapoor, Mishika Chourasia, Anupama Agnihotri, Digangana Suryavanshi, Prem Chopra, Govind Namdeo and Shyamlal Yadav.
Written and produced by Pahlaj Nihalani, Rangeela Raja' is yet to find a new release date.
