“Tamil Actors losing Telugu Market!”

Few years ago there were demands in Telugu film industry to ban dubbing films here. There were calls even to restrict their release during festive seasons so that they do not eat in to the collections of native films here. There used to be times during which Tamil heroes like Suriya, Karthi, Vikram have market on par with some star heroes in Telugu. Their films like Ghajini, Aparachithudu etc were big hits here in those days.

But off late the times have changed considerably. Reigning Tamil Superstars Ajith and Vijay never really have their presence felt in Telugu market. Suriya's recent releases in Telugu like Brothers, 7th Sense have become big flops here and incurred heavy losses to distributors here. Karthi's market is also depleted so much some of his recent films have no takers in Telugu and did not release here. Vikram who is flops off late had pinned hopes on I to make a come back in Telugu as well. In senior heroes, Kamal Hassan stirs interest in audience but could not make much impact on box office for several years. Only Superstar Rajinikanth is a threatening Tamil hero in Telugu market today.
